How to Get Clear Skin?

How to Get Clear Skin?

While some people are blessed with good genes, healthy skin really starts with a healthy lifestyle. Proper skin care, a properly balanced diet, and even stress management can not only fight the aging process, but also improve the overall appearance of your skin. You can often maintain a youthful glow by making smart lifestyle choices.

Step 1

Start wearing sunscreen whenever you're outside. Choose sunscreens, moisturizers, and makeup with an SPF of 30 or higher.

Step 2

Reduce shower time. Hot water combined with soap can actually reduce the amount of sebum in your skin. Most people can shower in just five to 10 minutes, so try to shower and bathe in short intervals.

Step 3

Use a gentle cleanser on your skin. Gentle cleansers should not dry out the skin like astringents and exfoliants. Look for products that are hypoallergenic and made with purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate, and glycerin, as well as fragrance-free.

Step 4

Invest in a moisturizer. Both women and men should moisturize their skin every day, the Cleveland Clinic urges. For best results, apply shortly after showering.

Step 5

Be mindful of your shaving technique. Shaving can take a toll on the skin, so always use good shaving techniques. Apply pre-shave creams before shaving and replace your razor blades regularly. You should also shave in the direction of hair growth and never strain your skin as you go through the blade.

Step 6

Maintain a well-balanced diet. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean meats can support healthy skin. Include apples, pears, melons, cherries, spinach, asparagus, onions, celery, legumes, fish and nuts in your diet as these foods are considered good for the skin.

Step 7

Avoid smoking tobacco. Carcinogens in tobacco products can constrict blood vessels, depriving the skin of nutrients. Over time, this damages the skin and causes premature aging, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Step 8

Monitor your stress levels. The American Academy of Dermatology reports that stress can increase the activity of blood vessels in the skin. Not only does this aggravate common skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, and acne, but it can also damage the skin and cause fine lines and wrinkles.

Step 9

Stay hydrated. Proper hydration helps transport nutrients throughout the body and also flush out toxins, which can improve the appearance of skin. Fluids essentially nourish the skin from the inside out, so drink at least 64 ounces of water each day

A smoother, fresher face Removing the outer epidermal layer that takes daily pounding can d...
